Detroit Lake

I think Detroit Lake is our favorite place to camp.  We love it because it is so beautiful there and we are usually right on the lake!  We were able to go camping there on August 26-29th this year.  We had such a great, relaxing time together.  It was warm and beautiful!  We left our house in the afternoon and were able to get there and set up and still have some daylight.  Which is not always the case.

I know you've all seen these fishing poles before--our kids love to play with them everytime we go camping.  Garrett got a spiderman one for Noah, so he didn't have to keep playing with the pink barbie ones.
 Maggie's favorite past time.
The last time we went camping at Detroit Lake was in 2010, when Noah was a baby.  Garrett's parents went with us.  Bella was about 2.  Everytime she'd see a squirrel, she'd call it little buddy.  Little buddy had tunnels under our campground and he'd poke his head out of one and Bella would get a kick out of it.  She'd put little snacks out for him (with Garrett's help) and wait to see if little Buddy would come and get them.  She'd love it everytime she saw a squirrel and loved watching the tunnels.  She thought there was only one little Buddy instead of the millions of them all over the campground.  It was so fun to watch.  Well, when we came this time, every time they saw a squirrel, they'd call it little buddy again and try to chase him (them) and feed them.  Noah really loved them this time.  There's one above Noah in this picture.
The girls brought their Polly Pockets to play
Beautiful view of the lake just down a short trail from our campground.

 A beautiful morning
 Eating breakfast
Getting ready to head to the lake.  Yes he is wearing pink water shoes; we didn't have anything else.
Noah didn't want anything to do with the raft or the water.
The other kids liked it though
Paige even jumped out of the raft a few times.
Maggie took me out in the raft--so relaxing!
Then I convinced Bella to come out with me.
 Feeding the ducks
This kid loved playing in the dirt.  He had a great time driving his cars and trucks around and burying them in the dirt.

Playing some badmitton type game without a net
me trying to catch up on my stitching
Noah showing off his dirt
 Washing dishes
Feeding the ducks--he loved doing this!
We left for home the next day, so didn't get any more pictures.
What a fun trip!
