Legoland Water Park and meeting up with Josh and Tanya

August 8th
Since Paige was still feeling sick, I decided to stay with her at the hotel, so she could sleep and try to get better.  Garrett took the other 4 and headed to Lego land to try out the Water parks.
Paige slept for awhile, then she watched movies in bed most of the day.  I blogged and watched episodes of 24 on my computer.
Meanwhile, the others had lots of fun!  I think they stayed at the water park most of the day, but then did a few other things in the afternoon.
Here they are eating lunch
Hanging out in the kid area.
It looked like a pretty neat place, but I don't remember much about what they told me.
I'm not sure why Bella is grumpy in this picture, but it's pretty common for her.
These were the actual sets used to film the Lego Movie.  They said it was awesome! (Of course)
Noah and Emmett
Then they rode some rides--The Safari Trek
And then they came home around 5.
Noah fell asleep on the way home, so I came down to watch Bella and Lydia swim in the pool while Maggie went up to the room with Paige and Garrett stayed in the car while Noah slept.  When Noah woke up, they went swimming for a bit, too.  After they were done swimming, Garrett got Panda Express for dinner and we ate, then cleaned up and packed.  Then next day we were heading to Anaheim.
August 9th
This morning after breakfast and packing up, we headed out to the car to load everything up.  Much to our surprise and disgust, we found ants EVERYWHERE in our car.  In the snack bag, in the cooler, in bags, on the seats, up and down the seatbelts, on the floor, in the front console.  It was SO GROSS!  I got rid of all the snacks in the bag and we tried to wipe out the ants as best we could, but there were so many of them.  So, we had to ride in the car to a gas station that had a vacuum/car wash.  We got quarters and sucked those babies up.  We cleaned as best as we could with wipes and whatever we had and got rid of most of them, but even as we were driving, we'd see some here and there.  I'm not sure how they got in our car that quickly because they said they didn't see any in the car the day before driving to and from Lego land.  It was so weird.
It took us about 2-3 hours to get to Anaheim and when we got there we ate lunch at Chipotle and then found our hotel.  Josh and Tanya were there already so we hung out with them and talked for a little while.  They live in Northern California and drove down to go to Disneyland with us.  They all decided to go swimming, but we were in desperate need of some clean clothes, so I had to go and find the laundry room in the hotel and do some laundry.  There were only 2 washers and dryers and it took awhile to get 2 loads of our clothes clean and dry.  I had to keep going back to check on availability and then people would leave stuff in there and not come back!  So finally, I had to take people's stuff out of the dryer so I could dry my last load because we were heading to dinner soon.  Such a pain!!
Maggie, Lydia, Garrett and Bella swimming at the hotel pool
Lydia, Maggie, Caleb, Garrett, Bella, Paige, Josh and Hannah.
After swimming, we went out to eat at this little Italian place.  It was nice and had pretty good food.  We went back to the hotel and went to bed.  The next morning we were heading to Disneyland!!

Sea World Aug 7th

Now that Christmas is over, I feel like I have some extra time to work on my blog.  I know I am way behind and I probably won't catch up anytime soon (especially considering that I've got a birthday party to start planning for Paige's January birthday).  Baby steps though...
Continuing with our sabbatical...August 7th was spent at Sea World.
We spent the first little while walking around looking at animals.
Then Garrett and Maggie talked Lydia into going on this roller coaster/water ride called 'Journey to Atlantis'.  Lyd's not a fan of roller coasters.
This is them coming down the hill.  I think she liked it though, but she didn't go on any more.
Seeing the Beluga whales in the wild winter arctic area.
Real snow/ice wall in the winter arctic area.
 Penguins
 Aquarium
Then we went to see a Sea lion and sea otter show.  We grabbed some hot dogs and chips and ate while we watched.  This was the description of the show:
Enjoy hilarious live-action TV and music spoofs performed by SeaWorld’s® resident sea lion comedy team—Clyde and Seamore. Put on your investigator’s cap with “Sea Lion S.I.” and watch show biz dreams come true on “Dancing with the Pinnipeds!”
 It was a cute show.
Then we went to watch the Dolphin show.  It was pretty good.
During this show, Paige started complaining that she wasn't feeling very good.  Her stomach was hurting and she had a headache and she said she was cold with goosebumps, even though it was a pretty hot day.  She felt pretty warm and I was worried about her.  I offered to go back to the hotel with her, but Garrett didn't want us to go --he thought she was fine.  We went to a gift shop to find some Tylenol for her.  We gave her that and were going back and forth about what we should do. At one point we were all going to go back to the hotel, and then we were all staying.  It wasn't very fun for awhile.  Garrett thought maybe she was getting heat stroke or something and went to find her an umbrella to keep her out of the sun.  He stayed with her in the shade for awhile and told us to go watch a show.  It was a dumb show and I was worried about Paige so we left that and went to find them.  Garrett suggested we go on a ride together and tried to convince Paige to go with us even though she was adamant about going home.  While waiting in line, we were all pretty grumpy, but by the time we got on the ride, Paige's medicine was kicking in and we were all doing better.
The ride we went on was "Shipwreck Rapids."  You know the one where you ride in a round raft/tube thing and go down the rapids where you get completely soaked?  That's the one.  Poor Noah had no idea that he was going to get wet, and when he got wet--he was not happy!!
We all had fun though and did get completely wet!
Trying to clean my glasses on a soaked shirt!
Then we ran to watch another show with the killer whales.
 Poor Paige
Eating some cheetos for a snack while watching the show.
After the show, Garrett took the 4 kids down to watch Shamu swim around.
Maggie and I went to ride the roller coaster called "Manta".  It was so awesome--we both loved it!
 waiting in line with Maggie
 Our picture at the end
We met up everyone else at the kids area (the Sesame street play area.)  They were riding the rides there.
Such a cute picture of my boys!
Notice the spots around Noah's mouth?  I think he and Bella and Paige got hand, foot and mouth disease because they all had these spots.  (I may have already mentioned that in the last post, but it was so long ago--I can't remember.)
Lydia, Bella and Noah had a fun time on the rides, but Paige was sitting on a wall pretty miserable.  So, we headed back to the hotel.  This is a picture as we were leaving.  When we got back, I gave baths and showers while Garrett got pizza.  We gave Paige more medicine and sent her to bed while we ate and watched TV.  Unfortunately, she threw up in the middle of the night, so that affected our plans for the next day.  We were going back to Legoland to spend some time in the water park.
