Camping in Pacific City

Friday March 18th
At school on Friday morning, Noah was chosen to be the Student of the Month for his class. His teacher said he is always on task and doing what she asks.
This is his teacher, Mrs. Wilkerson.  She is so great!  We love her!
This is what they hang up in the school and they keep it up for a month and then send it home.
Also on that Friday, Bella had a field trip to OMSI.  She begged and begged for me to come with them because I hadn't been on a field trip with her yet.  I hesitated because I had so much to do to get ready to go camping.  She finally won and I went with her. I was in charge of her group that consisted of her friends Emma and Lauryn.
On the bus riding to OMSI.  Man, if you are tall, there is NO leg room on buses.  I had to sit diagonal the whole time.
OMSI is a science museum with fun hands-on experiments.

This was a cool experiment with sand where you can build hills out of sand and watch the topography map change.  We made a great big island in the middle of the sea.
When everyone got home from school, we left to go camping.  It takes us a couple of hours to drive to Pacific City.  We were meeting up with some other friends to camp for the weekend.  We went with the Nelson's, Braun's, Nissinen's and Terri Nissinen's brother's family.  By the time we got there, everyone else had already arrived and set up.  We were able to sit out by the fire with them for a little bit after we set up and had dinner.
Beautiful picture of the ocean on our way to the campground.
Saturday March 19
After breakfast this morning, we went exploring with everyone.  We went to a few different beaches and this one had some cool sand dunes that the kids liked to jump off of.

Lydia was enjoying the time to take pictures with her new camera.

All of us decided to walk up this gigantic hill of sand at Cape Kiwanda.
This is the hill we were going to climb.

Some of the adults and older kids wanted to go up another trail and look over the cliff, but it seemed a little dangerous for the littler kids, so my friend Ashley and I took the younger kids to play in the water.
I love this picture because of the rock that the people are standing on. That's been there forever, but recently I read in the news that some punks actually knocked it over and it's now gone.

After that, we all found a pizza place and all had lunch together.  Then we headed back to our campground and tried to go swimming.  They had something wrong with their water heater or something because the water was FREEZING!  Garrett and some of the kids went in the pool, but they didn't last very long.
After the pool, we went to the play area outside and played mini-golf, played on the playground and some people played basketball and tennis.

After playing, each family went and had dinner in their own trailer/cabin and then we met up after dinner for another campfire.
Sunday March 20th
We all went to the Tillamook ward for their sacrament meeting and then we came back.  It was kind of rainy so we just hung out and read and watched the "Sound of Music".  After that and lunch, they decided to try the pool again only to find out it was still just as cold!  Then we played on the playground and did mini-golf again.
On the drive back from Tillamook, we drove down onto the beach and watched the waves come in.
I'm sure these were our tracks from Garrett doing donuts.
Trying to get back into the freezing cold water--I don't even know why they wanted to try!
Bella was really cold because she put her skirt back on after swimming, so Garrett let her borrow his sweatshirt.
I'm sure we had another campfire, but I can't remember for sure.
Monday March 21st
Today we all packed up and headed out at about the same time.  We decided to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for lunch and ice cream.
Taking selfies while waiting for our food.  It was the first day of Spring Break in Oregon, so it was packed!!
Most of the group watching the cheese get packaged.
They had to get a picture in the Tillamook van.  It's pretty much tradition.  I think we were the first to leave to head home.  Didn't do much for the rest of the day except unpack and clean out the trailer.  It was a fun trip with some fun people!
