October, minus Halloween

Here's what happened in October:
 Saturday October 3
 Outside playing after General conference
 Tuesday October 6th
Noah playing soccer.  I love his face in the picture above...so aggressive and determined!
He loved having Garrett as his coach!
Wednesday October 7th
Paige and her friends Brooke and Hailey playing at the park and making funny face selfies.
 Thursday October 8th
 Bella playing soccer
I was watching her team that day and it was her turn to sit out, so we snapped a picture.  I had just gotten my hair cut earlier in the week.
Friday October 9th
Glencoe's Homecoming Game.  We all went to watch it, but these pictures are from Maggie.  She and her friends were sitting in the student section.
Maggie, Emma and Spencer.  Not quite sure what he's doing.
Saturday October 10th
We ran this 5K that some people in our old ward started after their sun got sick and passed away.
Pictures of Maggie and Lydia crossing the finish line!
On our way home after the race!
Later in the afternoon we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's to pick our pumpkins from their pumpkin patch. Going on a tractor ride to the patch.
A view from out their barn door.
 They had great pumpkins!
Thursday October 15th
The elementary school age kids had their school pictures taken on this day.  The older 2 had theirs taken in September, but I forgot to put them in, so here they all are.
 Bella 2nd grade
 Lydia 7th grade
 Maggie, 10th grade
 Noah, Kindergarten
Paige, 5th grade
Saturday October 17th
The Primary was in charge of the fall activity this year.  Usually in the fall, we have a chili cook-off and sometimes a Halloween themed party.  I thought that this year it would be fun to have a Western Hoe-down!  I love all things cowboy, so we got to work planning it.
This is the Jail poster I made so that people could take pictures with it at the hoedown.  Such sad faces on these kids!
We went and set up that morning.  I borrowed a lot of stuff from Georgia because she has lots of antiques and lots of western stuff.  Garrett was awesome and helped me with the covered wagon and the welcome sign and the cow.  The cow was his idea and he put it together!  It was awesome!
He was going to have people rope it, but we thought it might get out of hand with the kids and they'd start roping each other.  We just wanted it for a prop to take pictures on, but we saw people pulling it around and giving kids rides.
 More photo booth props
We had so many great people help put this together and help with food and decorating and set-up.
My friends Ashley (in primary with me) and Tonya.
Garrett is such a goof.  He spent a good part of the morning trying to make his huge belt buckle.  He got so many comments on that thing.  He is so funny!
Paige and her friends eating dinner together.
 My family
I was so glad that I ordered the pie tins to eat dinner out of.  We had pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread, baked beans and macaroni and cheese.  We had people sign up to bring desserts.
We wanted to have line dancing and have someone teach one dance for those of us who don't know any line dances.  I couldn't find anyone to teach it, so I got Maggie and her friends to help teach a line dance to Fishing in the Dark.  They did such a great job, it worked out perfectly!!
We had the rest of the young men and young women in charge of games for all the primary kids so the parents could have some time to talk and dance without kids.  It turned out really well!
 Spencer, Emma, Makaela and Maggie
 All the dancers
I think everyone had a great time!  I got lots of compliments on everything and I had a lot of fun, too!
 Noah and his friend Cooper
 Saturday October 24
This stake dance was supposed to be a masquerade dance and they were supposed to dress up.  I guess they made masks there, but Maggie said they were kinda lame.  They had fun anyways.
Wednesday October28th
Garrett had been out of town for a few days and he got home this night.  This is something these guys do all the time...make funny faces and take pictures of themselves.
Thursday October 29th
Maggie's choir concert
She is smack dab in the middle,  Isn't she beautiful?  She really loves choir and loves to sing!  She also really loves her choir teacher.
Next posts will all be about Halloween!!
