Idaho, continued...

Monday

So, on Monday we just hung out at the house chatting, swimming, playing horseshoes and roping a "cow".

This is Alex teaching his daughter Sydney how to hold and throw the rope. It's much more difficult than you would think. I finally roped it after 5 or 6 tries.

That night we went to a family barn night where we got to have a wagon ride, the kids were able to ride horses and then we cooked hot dogs for dinner and had s'mores. It was kind of fun.

After we ate, we took the kids down to the barn to see the new baby calf. He was pretty cute--Bella was pretty smitten with him. Garrett held her close to the calf and she'd pat his head and pull his ears. It was all fun and games until the calf started eating her pants...

I had to throw this picture in. There were tons and tons of little bugs swarming around that night. There were even more of them around the cow. I think this is why Josh and Tanya were covering up...anyways...it was funny.
There were a couple of dogs running around the place and Maggie and Lydia were playing with this one dog in particular--patting it and hugging it, etc. Over the next two days, Maggie and Lydia broke out in all these red dots over their torsos and neck and then started spreading to their arms and legs. Lydia had it the worst and hers appeared first, and she even had a red rash on her chest. The only thing I can figure it was, were flea bites from the dog. Yuck! They eventually went away, but they were not nice!
