Singing for the Beavers

Last Friday, Maggie was able to have a neat experience through her school choir. They were invited to sing the National Anthem at the Portland Beavers Baseball game. We all thought it was a pretty neat experience. They did great! She was also excited to ride the bus there and back with her friends and come back late (9:30). They had to leave at 4pm, so that they could get there and practice and eat dinner in plenty of time before the game started at 7pm. We took the Max down and the girls loved it! They thought it was so fun!--(we don't ride it very often, so it's a treat for them).

We had fun at the game! It's been years--probably about 8 years since we went to a baseball game. I think we took Maggie once when she was two years old. We only remember having to chase her up and down the stairs. I've always loved going to baseball games with my family. We used to go all the time in Texas--fun times. The girls were kind of bored. They liked eating hot dogs and nachos there, but were ready to go by the second or third inning. Lydia had a lot of her friends from school there, so really liked hanging out with them. Bella loved looking for the mascot (a Beaver) and kept asking where the beaver was. She also had fun dancing to the music. There weren't very many people there--I was kind of surprised about that. It was also "Bark in the Park" night which meant you could bring your dog with you to the game. Bella loved seeing all the "puppies" as she calls ALL dogs. We left at the bottom of the 6th inning and got home in time to pick up Maggie at her school at 9:30. They left right after we did. I'm glad she was able to go--how often do you get to sing at a sporting event?

Tiff, the max is the train that runs from Hillsboro to Portland. Most cities have them, they are just called different things. :)
