Dance, Dance Dance!!

Saturday the 20th was the girls' dance recital for the year. The theme for the recital this year was, "Seasons". So all the dances revolved around the seasons of the year starting with Spring and going through Winter. Paige, who is in ballet, danced as a chick in the spring section. Lydia's tap class was also in spring and they danced to "LaBamba" for Cinco de Mayo. And Maggie's acrobatic routine was in fall and they were "tumbling leaves". The whole recital was very well done and very professional. I love the owner of the dance studio, Patty Peterson. She is so great at what she does--teaching a lot of the classes and running the studio. She has great teachers working for her as well. If anyone is looking for a place to put their kids into dance, I highly recommend Forest Grove Dance Arts. You won't be disappointed. I don't mean to advertise for her, but I've just been really impressed with her studio and her professionalism.

The girls have worked hard all year long in their classes and have all come along away. The recital is a fun way to show off all their new skills and dress up in fun costumes and wear a little make-up! My girls were really excited about that part! Lydia and Maggie were a little nervous before the recital, but Paige wasn't the least bit phased by it. They all did well and remembered their parts. Garrett and I were so proud of them.
Here are a few pictures of them in their costumes. I realized that I don't have a very good picture of Paige with her chick hat on, so there's one of her at rehearsal, but she's looking to the side, so it's not a great picture, but at least you can see the hat.

Maggie the Acrobatic

Maggie hated her costume and was constantly pulling her shorts down--she felt very uncomfortable everytime she put it on. I wish they would have picked something a little cuter for her, she's such a cute girl!
