Happy Belated Birthday Maggie Moo!

I missed blogging about Maggie's birthday because I was kind of busy with birthdays and my in-laws were visiting etc, etc. So, I wanted to write a little something about Maggie. I can't believe my first born is 9 YEARS OLD!! That is so crazy!!

Maggie took her time coming to us. It took two induction tries to get her out of her comfy little "home". My due date was April 15 and at my doctor's appointment on the 17th, my doctor set up a time to come in and get induced on the 19th (4 days late). So, we went in that afternoon and were there for that night and the whole next day. They sent us home at 11pm on the 20th and I was just barely dilated to a 1. We went back in on Sunday the 23rd after our Easter dinner and started the induction process all over again. They broke my water the next day around 2pm and she was born at 9:27 that night, the 24th (9 days late). It was a long process, but she finally decided to come and join us. What a joy she was and we thought she was absolutely perfect. She was a great baby, too. Nine years later, she's a great kid and we love her a bunch.

Here are some things about Maggie:

1. She is a hard worker in school and she is an excellent student. She really loves going to school and learning and helping her teacher. I think she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Like mother like daughter. :) She loves to read and can go through a chapter book in like 15 minutes.

2. She is a great big sister and helper to me. She even changed a poopy diaper the other day--she usually just changes wet diapers, so this was big!

3. She's a little shy when it comes to doing things in front of people, but at home she is quite the opposite. She loves to sing karaoke and loves to dance for us. She has a beautiful voice and loves to sing. I keep saying she should join choir, but she says that she's a little afraid. She'll get there. When she was four she was in her first ballet recital and she was scared to death to go out on stage. With a little help from her teacher, she was able to go out and do a part of her dance. Now, she's a pro at recitals.

4. She started taking acrobatics this year and really loves it. She couldn't do cartwheels before she started, but now is doing one handed cartwheels and backward somersaults. Her recital for that is June 20th...

5. She loves animals and would have 10 different pets if I let her. (I'm not so much of an animal lover) Her favorite animal is a horse, but a close second are dogs.

6. She is a big time worryer. She always has been. When she was about 2, she would always ask if I had locked the doors when we left the house. She worries about things that kids should never have to worry about. She's got her great grandma Wilma's worry gene in her.

7. She's very diligent in reading her scriptures every night. She knows some of the stories in the Book of Mormon really well and loves learning more stories.

8. This girl loves the water--she'd swim all the time, if she could. When she was little, she was not afraid of the water. She'd stand up, then just let herself fall backwards into the water and soak herself, face, hair and all and come up just laughing and smiling and do it all over again. AND the water was FREEZING, but she didn't care. She loves being at the beach and playing in the water, too.

9. She is a happy girl all of the time, well most of the time--who's happy ALL of the time? She loves to laugh, sing, dance and play--WE LOVE HER bunches!!

It's cute how she looks "totally Maggie" even at 2 years old.
